Over years of experience I have learned the importance of individualizing my strategies while also employing evidence-based methods. I love my work and even more the people that honor me with their trust.

I am a therapist in Westchester with offices in White Plains, but also work remotely with clients throughout the states of New York and Connecticut. As a therapist in Westchester with over 20 years of experience, I have provided services to children, adults, and families. I earned my Masters degree from Columbia University, where I received the National Association of Social Workers Award for Student of the Year. My expertise includes areas such as anxiety, depression, learning differences and ADHD, Infertility, couple conflict and divorce, work related struggles, and family conflict and difficulties. As a therapist in Westchester, New York and Connecticut, I have had the privilege of witnessing countless stories of loss, struggle, and victory.
Recognizing the family unit’s powerful influence on an individual’s life, I have pursued years of extensive training and certification in Family Therapy. This allows me to understand clients through a family systems lens, considering their historical and current family context, even if working with them as individuals.
Additionally, I am certified as a Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (TF-CBT) and I employ CBT and DBT techniques for lasting emotional and behavioral shifts. I have also participated in research and trained in Motivational Interviewing, a widely used evidence-based technique guiding individuals toward higher motivation for behavior change.
Beyond specialized clinical training, I possess years of practical knowledge in supporting parents and children through school difficulties, behavioral struggles, high-performance sports stress, the college admission process, and transitioning successfully into college.
I am fluent in Spanish and English and currently reside in Westchester County, NY. Married to my husband of 30 years, we raised twin daughters and a son while spoiling our two rescue dogs, Chica and Lalo. I love my work and the people I have the privilege to help.
Client Testimonial
Marisol is a wonderful therapist. She is up to date with current treatments as well as a wealth of knowledge. She helped not only my son, but me as well. He learned techniques to keep himself calm and I learned how to take charge in a structured way to better support us both. Because Marisol has expertise in working with children with special needs, it was through her dedication and perseverance that I was able to get my son the services he needed to support his ADHD. I highly recommend Marisol.
